Summertime Layering

Shirt - Boohoo*  Dress - Zara  Culottes - Lavish Alice  Shoes - Mango

You know the time of year. The blue sky is out, it looks warm outside yet it's probably the same temperature as the antarctic. It's kind of like that at the moment in the UK (or maybe just Wales by the sounds of it, smug Londoners getting all the sun). Anyway, I have been dying to wear this Zara dress after picking it up a few weeks back now, but I haven't quite braved bare legs, sleeveless AND V-neck just yet. 

So, what better time to mix it up a bit with some layering, summer style. Adding a shirt underneath gives the dress a little more depth, especially as it's patterned. It also gives you a bit of modesty, because sometimes a plunging neckline isn't majorly appropriate whilst hanging around in the day time. A pair of culottes underneath longline items works really well too and just gives it more of an edge. 

It may not be the most conventional way to wear a summer dress, but then again, who wants to be like everybody else?
